About this Event

Do you need a safe affirming space where you can re-center and ground?

If so, the Remember, Rest, and Rise spiritual retreat is for you!!

Now more than ever, the need for people of color to integrate radical self-care practices into our lives is essential for thriving. The ongoing impacts of racism and the global pandemic have been gravely debilitating to our collective communities and have also caused wear on our individual spirits. Yet and still, we can find strength in remembering the truth of who we are. We can reclaim the love, strength, and resiliency that is built into our DNA. As we navigate race-based trauma and respond to the demands of our daily lives, it is easy to lose sight of our core truth and become discouraged. Sacred pause is required to re-center and come back home to ourselves.

This 2-hour retreat will ground us in the powerful practice of cultural remembrance and revolutionary rest to fuel our rising in 2021. Using a blend of spiritual tools, informed knowledge, and experiential exercises, Drs. Tameka and Kawami will take us on a beautiful journey to deepen our understanding of the interdependent nature of remembering, resting, and rising. The hope is that your spirit will find rejuvenation and encouragement for the path ahead.

In light of the political climate and the individual and collective focused need for care, this session is designed specifically for people of color. This allows us to create the intimate and psychologically safe space necessary to truly nurture the hearts, minds, and bodies of those present.

We hope you will join us!!
